The second edition of Danya's Care Pack Drive aims to have an even bigger impact than the successful event held in 2018.

We asked Danya to explain the main aim and details of her Care Pack Drive which she now hosts as an annual event.
"As you are probably aware women and children are the most vulnerable to poverty in South Africa and due to the high unemployment rate in Cape Town most new mothers cannot afford proper medical care during their antenatal and postnatal period. With this being said I have decided to do a Care Pack Drive, where people can come along and bring all their toiletry donations."
Naturally building on the success of 2018, Danya and her team are expanding on the range of different kinds of donations they are taking in.
"This time around we're also asking that you donate used or new children's toys as well as books for children and for moms."
"There will be a dedicated box for each item on the list so please join me on this day and bring along as many friends and family members you can possibly get together."
ITEMS TO DONATE:
Baby - Nappies (Towel/Disposable) , Soap, Wash Cloth
Mom - Sanitary Pads , Soap , Wash Cloth, Toothpaste and Toothbrush.
Any baby and mommy extras e.g Vaseline, Hairbrush etc
Children's Toys / Books and books for Mom

THE THRIFT STORE
A new addition to the concept is the Thrift Store.
The store will have professional second hand female attire available to women from the area of Kasselsvlei who generally cannot afford those items.
"The woman who benefit from this can then utilize those clothing items when they need to go for job interviews."
Danya continues: "As many of you are aware, if you look great, YOU FEEL GREAT and people will receive you in that manner. Therefore I would like to request if you have any clothing available that you would like to donate to please bring it along on the day of the drive or you are welcome to DM our Lotus Street Facebook Page and where possible, I will collect the items."

Danya's Care Pack Drive 2019 now also has the FILL THE BAG option available should you not be able to collect all the toiletries or you don't have the time to do that.
You are welcome to purchase a bag from them and they will fill it on your behalf.
