Watch SA Champ Brandon Benjamin riding waves back in 2014. Originally from Steenberg / Retreat near Muizenberg in the Cape Peninsula, Brandon recently became the 52nd South African Men's Surfing Champion when he won the title at Buffalo City.
On Sunday 27 August 2017 the 22-year-old became the first person of colour to win the national surf title, but with hardly any media coverage and sponsorship to cover his costs, it's an uphill battle for the new champion to fulfill his dream of competing on the professional circuit.
