With almost every other film made on the Cape Flats that end up showing at mainstream cinemas, there is almost always a negative backlash and usually it's even before anyone who is complaining had actually seen it.
Nommer 37 is no different in that there is already a backlash from people who have most certainly not yet seen the film which opens at cinemas on Friday 1 June 2018.

Well... I can't remember how many times over the past few months I've told people "No, Nommer 37 is not your 'run-of-the-mill' Cape Flats gangster movie".
To be honest... Until now that was based on the information I have been given by people involved in different aspects of the production of the movie, but now I have actually seen the entire film.
After attending the official South African premiere on Monday 21 May I can with one hundred percent certainty say...

Now in its second year, The Ravens Independent Film Festival (RIFF) is an annual South African Township Film Festival held on the 24th September, National Heritage Day, which is also a public holiday.
