On a quick visit home to South Africa, in between filming episodes of The Flash in her role as The Mechanic, Kim Engelbrecht revealed a little more about the character she plays and about  her experience of filming in Canada.
 
The Mechanic is the devoted assistant to “The Flash” Season 4 nemisis The Thinker, but the actress said that her character isn’t entirely evil.

Making history as the first feature film in South Africa to première at a maximum security prison before its national release in cinemas, the movie Noem My Skollie made its screen debut at the notorious Pollsmoor prison.

On Tuesday August 16th the film which is set on the Cape Flats and in Pollsmoor prison and which is based on the life of scriptwriter John W. Fredericks was screened to an audience of about 150 people. These included wardens, about twenty inmates from the Arts and Culture group, some invited guests from NICRO, and Artscape - who are collaborating with Norwegian partners on a theatre project involving prisoners and parolees, called Help I am Free.

‘Cold Case’, which premiers at the National Arts festival in Grahamstown, is not just another story about another human life. It’s a stage production about a woman who gave her lifetime for freedom of oppressed South Africans and who never got the chance to smile when freedom day dawned and ushered in the democratic society.
