Brandon Benjamin originally from Steenberg / Retreat near Muizenberg in the Cape Peninsula recently became the 52nd South African Men's Surfing Champion when he won the title at Buffalo City.
On Sunday 27 August 2017 the 22-year-old became the first person of colour to win the national surf title, but with hardly any media coverage and sponsorship to cover his costs, it's an uphill battle for the new champion to fulfill his dream of competing on the professional circuit.

With unbridled irreverence, Shana tackles the issues many of us on the Cape Flats and indeed in Coloured areas across the country almost constantly face albeit to varying degrees.

GEDIG DEUR BERNARD FIELIES

On Wednesday 23 August 2017, Hakkiesdraad Hartman and two of his fellow artists will be presenting a Dinner Showcase at the Jolly Carpe in Retreat Cape Town.
He will be accompanied by singer, songwriter Robert Rudeboi Lawrence and wordsmith NormanSmily. All three of these artists hail from George in the Garden Route and have been working together for 5 years. They have been writing and recording, developing artists and the music scene in George and the Southern Cape while maintaining strong community responsibility and social awareness.

When 3 Tons of Fun was formed 10 years ago, they truly broke the stereotype that only slender women can be sexy and they affirmed that fuller-bodied females can also successfully grace stages as artists and consistently remain popular with audiences. Their success calls for a big celebration and they are doing it in style on 9 September 2017.
